GGL Fundamentals

General Objectives:

The aim of this subject is to provide participants with supporting knowledge of the cryogenic units. The contents will explain the fundamentals of natural gas, its composition, main gas laws, safe handling and main equipment used on GGL facilities.

Specific Objectives:

At the end of training the trainees will be able:

• To describe the basic components of natural gas;
• To understand natural gas behavior under different conditions of pressure and temperature;
• To handle natural gas in a safe way;
• To know main equipment used on cryogenic plants, its purpose and basic operation principles: Heat exchangers, expander, JT Valve, distillation columns.
